Note also that you don't need to do "stair-stepping" to make polygons  
from blocks.  Putting a block of air in front of a block of dielectric  
will chop a hole in the latter, so you can make any desired polygonal  
shape by starting with a block of dielectric and then chopping off  
blocks of air to make the faces of the polygon (for example).
