Nothing is wrong. Guile 1.8 "deprecated" a bunch of older functions,
which means that they are still supported but they might be removed in
a future Guile release. You are getting the warning messages
because SWIG still uses many of these functions (and to a lesser
extent libctl does). There is an environment variable to suppress
these (harmless) warnings, which is described in the warning output.
