Dear Steven Johnson and meep users,

I have a problem with some MEEP simulations. It is a problem I am facing
since a long time, and it happens when I want to do long simulations in
order to be sure that the Harminv Q factor is correct.

After some time the fields begin to present a "pixelation", some kind of
degradation of the calculations. Attached will you find the obtained field
for two different moments of the simulation. The first is when the beginning
of the "pixelation" is clearly evident (time=2000 aprox.). The second is
fast random numbers. I have checked the values of the fields for this
moment, and they are very high (something like 10e12).

I do not have any kind of gain in the photonic crystal (neither an active
region or whatever), so I can not understand why this is happening, except
that after a lot of calculation MEEP could begin to have "rounding"
numerical problems, but really, it is only a hypotesis, and I do not
strongly believe that is the case. I have included the control file, and
also the dielectric structure.

I would really appreciate if someone could lend me a hand with this problem,
mainly because I need this help to conclude my thesis.

Thanks in advance,
Gerardo.

PS: I had to cut my mail in three parts because I needed to put 3 images to
make clear for understanding.
