Dear Meep users, I am working with a stack composed by metals and dielectrics. I have thus to model a gold and a III-V semiconductor layer.
We have Drude-Lorentz models for Gold, but for the III-V at the electronic band edge I am more confident to fix an absorption value and then a conductivity. My questions are: 1. Since for metals imaginary part of index is larger than real part, epsilon_real is negative; does also in this case (im \neq 0) hold the divergence problem of negative epsilon? I believe it should. 2. May a dispersive model for metals and a fixed conductivity model for semiconductors work properly together? Thank you very much. Andrea.
