the unit in MEEP and in MPB is the same.
in meep and mpb , the period is 1
the each frequency that you achieved form mpb, you can use it to meep
directly .
for example if .2 is an eigen frequency of a pc that you achieved it form
mpb, you can set the frequency of the source to .2
in the range of photonic band gap, there is no eigen-frequency of a pc.
then you can not set the frequency of the source in this range except for
photonic crystal defect like line defect or point defect.
if you want to understand units in meep and mpb please refer to units in
meep and mpb in their tutorials.
for slow light you should use the group velocity of the line defect mode of
pc waveguide via mpb.refer to MPB reference. because the velocity of light
in mpb is 1 , after extract the group velocity, you should inverse it to
achieve group index
