Although we have not had any significant losses from receiving counterfeit
money (only a $5 bill was discovered to be counterfeit by our bank
recently), we have been pondering whether we should start using counterfeit
money detector pens at our cashier counters. However, I understand that
they can sometimes indicate that a bill is counterfeit when, in fact, it is
simply an old bill. I am curious to find out what other cities are doing,
if anything, to protect against the receipt of counterfeit money. Please
respond by end of day on Monday, January 31st. Thanks for your help :-)
