Dear CSMFO member, The CSMFO Coaching Program serves members who: * Would like confidential advice and support from a seasoned finance officer on their career development, * Want to expand their network within the profession, and/or * Get help in locating information and resources to enhance their job performance and satisfaction. If you'd like to be a Player, please read further, respond to the questions at the end, and email your response. If you know another CSMFO member who would benefit from the program but may not be on the email list, please copy this notice for them. They also can fax a response. WHAT'S THE CSMFO COACHING PROGRAM? It's the pairing of seasoned finance officers with newer and less experienced professionals. A primary objective of the program is to give participants an opportunity to learn new skills, thereby, expanding their professional and personal development while "grooming" the next generation of finance officers and promoting the high standards of the profession. HOW DOES IT WORK? Participants exchange ideas and insights through periodic one-on-one meetings using the mix of phone, email and in-person contacts that suits them. The participants set the schedule and level of involvement they want. A one-hour, telephone orientation session ensures participants understand the key elements of a successful coaching relationship. Optional bridge calls offer an opportunity to learn from a broader group. The personal profile tool helps participants gain deeper insights into their management style and how to enhance their effectiveness. HOW YOU CAN PARTICIPATE 1. Please send a reply to this email by Wed., Feb. 23. [Note: You'll never be stuck in this program. There is a "no fault" opportunity for anyone who finds that continued participation does not work for them.] 2. If you are going to the Annual Seminar in Pasadena, look for someone with an "I'm a Coach" button and additional materials. Enjoy the opportunity to mingle informally with CSMFO leaders who have served as Coaches. [Note: there will be a panel discussion on the Coaching Program at 11:00-11:50 a.m., Monday, February 28.] If you're not going to Pasadena, we'll send you information. ___ Yes! I'd like to be a Player in the CSMFO Coaching Program. ___ Perhaps, but I'd like to receive the following information first: [please specify] Name: Position: Organization: Phone number: Fax number: Email address: Any particular areas of experience you'd like your coach to have? I ___ will be at the Annual Seminar in Pasadena. I ___ will not be at the Annual Seminar. Note: we have an excellent group of CSMFO members volunteering as Coaches. If requests for Coaches exceeds the number of volunteers, it will be first come, first served. Thank you! Don Maruska Master Certified Coach CSMFO Coaching Program Fax: 805-772-4697
