Knowing that everyone is looking for anything and everything they can find regarding
GASB 34 I would like to mention that the California CPA Education Foundation is
presenting its annual Government and School Districts Conference in Newport Beach on
May 11 and in Sacramento on May 12.

The keynote speaker is Jay Fountain of the GASB and four hours of the day will be
dedicated to GASB 34 issues. The City of Corona is currently doing a pilot project
with its audit firm of Caporicci, Cropper and Larson along with the engineering firm
of Abbott and Associates to restate our CAFR for June of 1999 so that we can implement
for June of 2000, much like the City of Tracy did in Pasadena but including the new
notes, transmittal letter, MD and A and RSI.

I will be part of a late morning panel which will include Jay Fountain, Michael
Moreland, Gary Caporicci and a representative of Abbott and Associates and we will all
be open for questions.

There are other sessions in the afternoon including Information Technology, Treasury
Operations and Performance Measures as well as numerous School District topics.
