The cut does not affect the Bradley-Burns (city portion of the) sales tax. It is a 1/4 cent reduction on the state's portion of the sales tax and directly impacts state revenues only. Of course, the cut does affect the state's ability to return revenues to cities that were taken with the property tax shift. For more info see Calif Rev & Tax Code section 6201 (especially sec 6201.3 and 6201.4) at http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/cgi-bin/waisgate?WAISdocID=9446811416+7+0+0&WAISaction=retrieve -- Michael Coleman Special Consultant League of California Cities [EMAIL PROTECTED] 530-758-3952 phone/FAX CThomas wrote: > Reading about the Governor's plan to cut sales tax, does anyone know if the > cut will come down to the city level, or is this cut going to affect only > the state revenues?
