Special Eid Announcement by the Islamic Association of Raleigh Dear Community Members: Assalaamu Alaikum
The Islamic Association of Raleigh would like to inform you that after a long and hard search, it found Durham�s Marriott Hotel as the only place that can accommodate our large community for Eid Prayer. Even Marriott was available ONLY for Sunday. Therefore, inshaAllaah we will pray Salatul Eid on Sunday, Nov. 14. Please arrive at 8 a.m. No prayer rugs needed. No food or drinks allowed. Free garage parking at the corner of Morgan St. Hotel Phone Number (919-768-6000). Enter from 3 sides: Morgan, Foster or Chapel Hill Street. If the Eid falls on Saturday, you can celebrate as usual but the Eid prayer will still be held on Sunday. In scholars� opinion Salatul Eid should be prayed in congregation at one place. If a large enough place is not available on the day of Eid, then it is permissible to delay Salatul Eid till the next day. Please know that IAR follows the Wahdatul Mutala�y rule, which means that the entire world is a single horizon and a reliable moon sighting news anywhere in the world is acceptable to it if such sighting does not contradict well-established scientific knowledge of our time.
