This inst offering you a cage but if the CAMS regulation is an
issue for you where Trev has indicated

Not meaning to be pedantic but this refers to "log booked" cars
only
ie any new log book applications from 1/1/2000 requires the
vehicle be fitted with a steel cage, as per their specs.
However NON logbooked cars (used in club level, sprints,
hillclimbs, autocross etc) can still utilise a previously
approved alloy cage, as there is no specific CAMS regulation to
cover this situation as I understand it.
Now for the RTA regulations please refer to somebody else.
Trev interestingly enough my log book (Historic Grp N) not
only doesn't refer to the material but doesn't refer to the
cage ( though the photos clearly show one)
