hi

i am currently building a 1600 for rallying/autocross. I am
considering having the diff welded up, but i do not have a trailer so
the car will hit the street occasionally for testing/race transport/or
if my other car breaks down. Is a locked diff therefore a worthwhile
addition, or will it be impossible to drive at normal speeds on the
street? Is an LSD worth the expense considering i can get my diff
welded for free, if so, how much should i pay? Finally, i have heard
about using mini spools or detroit lockers instead of CIG locking. How
do these systems work, are they a viable alternative, and how much$$$?

Thanks in advance for any help

Regards
Sam
