Gerry Ball ran his business in fyshwick for many years and in approximately
1978 went into business with Alby Sedatis as a restraunter.
Some vintages rallying performances were given by Carr during 1973 - 1980.
Firstly in his private 1600, then in the Lennock motors 180B. Later he had
a 120Y with a four link rear end, before a range of escorts, fiats, etc.

Gerry Ball, Alby Sedatis, and Bob Comley did the London to Sydney marathon
in 1976? in a six cylinder Falcon 2 door and were leading by a considerable
margin before being wiped out by a truck in Yugoslavia. Ball tuning and
Greg Carr were almost invincible during those great days of group G
rallying!

Subject: Canberra datsun Tuner - Message for Terry Rudd
Date: Wednesday, April 05, 2000 11:24

Terry,

I was reading some old articles from about 1976 on the Total Southern Cross
Rally and the various teams etc. It mentions the Factory Datsun team of
George Fury and the Gerry Ball team of Greg Carr. It mentions that Gerry
Ball was a Canberra based Datsun tuner and was co-sponsoring the car with
Lennocks Datsun. I was just wondering if you had heard of him and whether
he was still involved with Datto's.

Sorry to bore the list with a nostalgia trip but its just interesting.

Cheers
