I have to jump in on this one.
In the 70's I owned an LJ XU1Torana. I
sold it because it couldn't beat a Datsun 1600, (admittedly it was on
dirt). So now I have my 5th 1600 and dont miss the XU1 (much). Both cars
have a certain character but 1600's are more versatile. They fit my idea
of an enthusiasts car, one you can drive all day and night, every day.
Fast, reliable, cheap fun.

My name is Melissa and I'm 19 years old and

I live in Brisbane and have just recently
become a lover of the Datto 1600. I plan on buying one in the next couple of
weeks to do up. I plan on putting a sr20-DET into it and basically going
wild. My last car was a 1970 LC Torana with a 186, genie extractors, 350
dual barrel holley, 3inch exhaust, stereo etc etc so i have no idea what I
am doing with this 'Jap Crap'. i have a bf and some mates that know what
they're doing (i hope) but i plan on getting down and dirty myself. i love
working on cars.
Basically, i just need advice on things that
have worked for any of you people and what sort of things i should
avoid.
