Subject: Supercharger Switch

On the OzDat homepage there is a page about a supercharged bluebird.
In the write up it claims to have an On/Off switch for the supercharger, I was interested in setting up a system like that last year on a supercharged 4AGZE Toyota Corolla I had, but every single person I spoke to about it (and that was a lot of people) said such a setup is totally impossible and was just made up for the mad max movie.

Am I now to believe that all those people were wrong and that it is indeed possible??
anyone had experience with such a setup?
