I'm also developing a engine management system (Sequential EFI and
electronic ignition) except I�m using the Atmel AT89S8252 micro � I started
out using a PIC micro but dropped them in favour of the Atmel one as there
have more memory there faster and are CHEAP !!! � check out
www.dontronics.com for more info.
I�m using hall effect sensors to pick up where the engine is / and it�s RPM
you can buy them from Dick Smiths and design the circuitry to run them.
Hopefully I�ll have the system going soon and at a total cost of about $100
for the control unit it�s much cheaper than a MOTEC system�..
