We decided the rubber seal glued in the water channel around the boot lid
opening was helping to promote rust in the channel in Luke's '72 model. We
replaced this seal with one glued to the underside of the boot lid.
Inverting the rubber allows the water channel to be kept clean and regularly
checked for any rust, and it doesnt leak into the boot. The boot is firm to
close so it doesnt rattle.
