Hi there everyone I have an (well everyone who has 1600's that has been in my car) a
verry extaordinary L16 in my 71 p510.
could anyone tell me if the motor is standard or not as we all seem very bemused as
wot my engine really is a stocko or not.
here is a list of numbers that I was able to get off it.
My engine number is : L16 063931.
It also had these numbers on the other side of the of the block right down the bottom
: 18 W70 and M2.
My head had number : W53 is that a good head or not?
I took the rocker cover of today as I Finally got myself a (DATSUN 1600 rocker cover)
and I can't see any cam markings on the end of the cam (IE A B C D) but it had 4
little bits of info on the length of the cam . It had (U20) then it had a (M)then it
had a (20)
andit was made in Japan.
Please ould anyone tell me where the bitts and pieces came from origanally as I would
really like to know whether it has been built for GOGGO or is it just a straight
stocko out of some other Datsun.
Also I have a wierd carby on it .
I have been told that it is off a 200B but I havn't ever seen one on a 200B at the
wreckers.
It has no markings on it at all .
It has a small round glass window at the front of it and it has wot I presume is a
automatic choke aswell as another wire going into it for airconditioning idle upper on
it.
