Yeah, thats the one.  Easy to tell - it has two connections.  Temp sender has one only.  And the sunday drive will be real soon......

G'day list, I remember this question being asked a while back.  I thought I'd just mention a fix that I found regarding high idle and cold start probs on my FJ20T (using stock ECU) - it may help someone.
 
Basically the temperature sensor (not temp sender) had a fair bit of corrosion on the terminals and also in the actual loom connector.  Once I fixed that, it now idles at a constant 800rpm (down from 1200rpm+ , also revs were hunting up and down). Now it "cold starts" sweet as well.
