no way man, horrible idea.chase up an alternator that pumps out more amps.
 
the power loss of an other alternator, the extra room taken, the extra mounting / installation aren't worth it.
 
Make sure that it is actually your problem too, you have only stated the watts, go over the car with a multimeter and find your current draw, even a basic check at the battery.
 
An auto elec can also modify your alternator/s to put a lil more amps out.
 
Look into it before you start trying to get a second alt. on.

Hi list,
I am thinking about whether it is worth putting a second alternator on my 120Y Coupe/A-12 to run just the head unit and amp. What do you think of this idea?
I have already got a second alternator, the reason i am considering this is that the standard alternator does not produce enough amps to run everything.
EG. The 2x100W driving lights, 2x250Watt amps, & heater.etc.
