Peter,

I looked into this for a Nissan Micra. OK I'll wear the flack, Rice Boy
stick a BOV and a 4 inch tip on it to make it faster! Ha Ha, so now I've
given myself shit back to the email.

I wanted to upgrade from a 13 x 5 wheel to either a 14 x 6 or a 15 x 6.5.
Both of these had problems:
14 x 6 meant that I needed a a 195/60 tyre which had a outside diameter 15mm
bigger than the original tyres, so illegal by RTA specifications.
15 x 6.5 was .5 of an inch too wide so again illegal by RTA specifications.
Although I did find acceptable tyres.

The RTA gave me a list of approved engineers in my area. The engineer I
spoke too said they could not approve such a change as it was out of their
guidlines.

I would expect for a datsun 1600 the biggest wheel size would be 15 x 5.5.
Has anyone on the list had bigger wheels than this engineered or would like
to make a comment.

Trev

Chris AS a LVT in VIC the true story is 1" wider 2" bigger Diameter than the
BIGGEST WHEEL fitted to your car by the manufacturer Thats the rule for ALL
cars
except if you get them engineered or the LVT is too young to remember what
was
fitted to what I sometimes get selective memory
