Cameron,
Sounds like a short, possibly in the tail light
harness that runs to the rear of the car. It runs
adjacent to the the trans tunnel.
Your clutch pedal, upon depressing, could be pressing
some parially bare wires together within the harness.
Alternativly the top of the clutch pedal could be
catching on a harness that is hanging too low beneath
the dash.
Unlikley, but the reversing light harness could be
catching on the slave cylinder. It runs through the
engine bay underneath the car.
