Jumping speedo can be a sticking speedo cable. -----Original Message----- From: Geordie Smith [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, August 17, 2000 9:49 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: TERRY I had a problem similar to that with my bluebird speedo. The speedo has a little coil spring in it which holds the needle back as you accelerate, but if the spring loses the exact amount of tension required to stabilise it, then it jumps all over the dial... The tacho problem you will find is caused by a small crack in one of the coggs in the tacho gizmo... I should gradually get worse over about a year or so of driving. Could also need a little bit of lubricant dribbled inside it if the cog isn't cracked! Solution = Replace it all!!! (That's how I fixed it on my Bluebird!) -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Cameron Stean Sent: Friday, 18 August 2000 12:12 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: TERRY Terry, i have a R180 3.9, tyres are 195/60 x 14, yeah the speedo jumps up and down from 0-20miles then on it seems to go smooth ans also 1km on the road is about 4 miles on my tacho, could it be the tacho???its the SSS dash.....thanks Cameron >From: "Terry & Heather" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: RE: (FJ20T 5SPD) WHAT SPEEDO PINION DRIVE???? >Date: Wed, 16 Aug 2000 22:28:28 +1000 > >Cameron, >Not working properly?
