Tip of the day from somebody who knows!!!

*** NEVER INSURE YOUR CAR WITH AAMI ***

*** ALWAYS, WHERE POSSIBLE, INSURE YOUR CAR WITH NRMA ***

I had good experinces with NRMA, and they have always been fair and really
good to me.

AAMI are a bunch of sharks, they only want your premium $$$ and they won't
pay up when it's time!!! If they fix your car, they use the shittiest parts
they can so that the repairs are as cheap as possible. Then you run into
other problems... I don't think they've ever paid up on a claim fully 100%
honestly!!!

I don't mean to de-fame them of anything, but I have had nothing but bad
experiences with AAMI, and have heard similar or worse storys from other
people!!!

Gday

When i bought my 1600 2 weeks ago i went through the same freakin process
looking for third party property damage insurance. I had those dam machines,
then you answer the same freakin questions over and over and 9 out of 10
times
it leads to ' sorry we dont insure lowered cars'. Well fuck you too. I rang
up
all the major companies and all bar one rejected me, AAMI refered me to
there
specialist subsidiary which does modified cars and they came up with $608.
NRMA
asked the usual postcode, age, any criminal convictions blah blah. They
asked if
my engine was stock or bigger i told em it was now 1800 and they said ok
cool no
worries. They never asked if it was lowered, they gave me a quote of $330, i
said giddyup. Gave em my credit card number and im insured. One company said
that ' sorry sir we dont insure that type of car' i say ' why not', she says
'
becasue we dont insure that type of car', thanks for nothing. Another
company
said sorry we dont insure cars over 30 years old, it comes under our vintage
car
insurance policy, i go ' ok put me through to em' , she says ' where do you
live' i say Sydney, she says ' our vintage car policy only operates in
queensland' hmm. Another company i rang the machine asked me to entre my
postcode using the keypad, so i did this and when i finally got through to a
person the fist question she asked me is 'what is your postcode. I didnt
ring
vigil or shannons but i guess they would be around $600. I am a 21 year old
bloke. My opinion of insurnace companies is very low as that was my first
encounter with them.
