At a quick thought maybee your flywheel is a extra heavy one.
Might be worth getting it lightened then revs will pick up and down heeps quicker.
I had the same problem with my last car and when we puled the motor out for a rebuild
we saw why it was almost twice the weight off any others we have seen before.
Swapped it and weeeeeeeee!!!
