You are already past them when you flash, therefore the risk is negligible.

Seriously, it is a good practice, everyone should do it. With good
communication between motorists, Speeding tickets would be a thing of the
past, the general motorist might actually take an interest in driving;
people would see you coming in their rear view mirrors and move over to let
you through, and we could all drive on into a glorious future of European
style driving.
