Wojee,

There are a few limited R180 LS options around, hard to locate and expensive
when you do find one as they are around $1200 still in today's money. Only a
couple of sources that I know off: Navara 4x4 front diff can be LSD, ratios
are usually 4.375 to 4.875. The other source of imported R180 LS is from the
ever popular Skyline DR30 RS-X, the ratio on these is 3.9:1. You would have
to check at the importers to see what's sitting around for the import diff.
Pete has given you a lead on the Soobie R180 VLSD diffs, Forrester 2.5 and
some Club Spec WRX have these but the only ones if seen are still in the
vehicle and for some reason the owners aren't too keen to let me try one out
on my Datto. The Forrester owner even gets paranoid if I walk around to the
back of it (:-

There must be a few R160 LS diffs from WRX Soobies about these days at the
wreckers. In the days when the 1600 was in full cry on the dirt a lot of
privateers used the Brumby R160 LS (ratios were 3.7 - 4.1) with very few
problems encountered with them. I had one myself in those days in my 72 GL
(rip) and it never looked like breaking but it was fitted with a cooler and
was serviced very regularly - just a thought as our 510 friends in the USA
still use these diffs with L power and don't have problems.

regards
Terry

Subject: LSD diffs?

HEy Guys (and Gals)

What options are there for LSD diffs for 1600 sedans?
240Z? 260Z?
I know R200s do fit but with wheel well bashing, and I mean bashing.
Are there any R180 options? Mr Liebig, what are you running?

Thank you all.

Wojee :O)
