Hi List,
I am new to the list and would appreciate any feed back from those of you
who no doubt know a hell of a lot more than me about tuning datsun engines.
I have a series 2 bluebird trx which is now in very good nick due to some
rebuilding, has also been lowered with Kings springs and monroe gas gt
shocks and has a 2" exhaust with straight through muffler. But now it is
time for the engine to get a work out.
The car is a daily driver, so reliability is important. However, I have
heard so many stories about where to start on these engines, and where the
major HP gains are, that I don't know where to start.
I plan to fit extractors next week, then start on the head - should I port
the standard head, or get a 1600 head ported etc. What about the cam... I
then plan to fit better carburation, but what? Are the twin SU's any good,
or would it be safer to go for a down draught weber?... HELP
Any suggestions would be welcome. I live in Brisbane in case any of you can
recommend work shops etc.
