Also with the extra thread, If the bolt does come loose you will find it
fowls the control arm making cornering difficult ( not much lock to lock)
before the bolt falls out. Not good but better than dislocating the bottom
of the strut from the control arm.

There is no more reason for the bolts to come undone when using spacers
than when without spacers if they are tightened to the correct torque. I
use bolts that extend 15mm upwards past the thread on the strut. This means
if the bolts do come loose you have a lot of warning (10 full turns of the
bolts @ 1.5mm pitch thread) before the strut becomes separate from the
steering arm. I have used the spacers on both road cars and race cars and
have never had a set come loose! I do not use Loctite on the bolts only a
new spring washer.
Yes, I have a vested interest in this subject but I do not expect to sell
any to persons on the list as I am only selling them for race use anyway!
