Steve,
You can bolt up the head and manifolds. When you put the cam, in just back
the crank off 90 degrees and the pistons will be well away from any valve
being opened. Set the cam to the recommended lift @ TDC and bring the crank
to TDC slowly feeling for any resistance. If resistance is felt check cam
position again.
Cheers

Hey,
Im rebuilding the z18et with a new head/cam setup after doing in the
head gasket. Im still waiting on the cam so my question is can i bolt
the head to the block and then when the cam comes in fit it up with the
head on?? as in will the valves hit the pistons when im trying to do the
cam timing??
Cheers
Steve.
