You are correct but the 4WD you are talkng about is the GTi-R 4WD. It has a
different block with more/different holes for the gearbox mounting.
The SR20DET also came in the Bluebird SSS in 4WD form. This has the same
block as the n/a FWD SR20DEs, thus gearboxes are interchangeable.
