Thanks Errol, I just got in from having another shot. This time I replaced the
manifold gasket as there was coolant leaking out. There is still coolant leaking,
in fact even more now that the engine got started. Yes I got it started! Cranked
up the idle and it started. Sounded a bit like a vw/wrx for a while then it
smoothened out and eventually died. I also had to advance the ignition from
full retard (on the dizzy) to one notch before the centre. Then it ran. I think
it needs to be tuned. Coolant everywhere now :( I plugged up one of the coolant
pipes on the intake manifold, should I have run that over to that junction over
the other side of the block? The pressure there might be forcing it out from
between the gasket?
If I can fix that coolant leak it should run.
