Zac,
It happened in late 74 or early 75; there was a write up in Modern Motor or
Wheels about the new generation 180B (side lights in fenders model) that
critisized the front susspension on the 180B, basicially it came last in the
comparison to the Corona of the day (RT104?) and a Cortinia 2000 i think was
the other car. Nissan didn't do a factory recall as such, may be they were so
stunned being beaten by a Cortinia, but offered the fix to disgruntled owners
that were experiencing premature tyre wear and more understeer than was
healthy. The tyre joints got on to it in Canberra, i can remember as many as 10
180B's booked into Lennocks on a Saturday to get the fix done. Nissan also
didn't quite work out for quite a while that the new sales of the 180B went
downhill for quite a while in 1975 but it picked up again with the higher trim
discounted models offered in 1976.
