for easy rear wheel drive options ur best bet is looking at toymota
they are good motors and u can get the 20valve 4age screamer if you want to 
spend a few dollars (nothing compared to converting a FWD to RWD but).
hot 4s had a good article all u need is to modify engine slightly and 
gearbox crossmember. just a thought and probably the most cost effective
