Just because schu did it that way doesn't mean it's the best way to do it! He probably did it that way because $300 is cheap for an intercooler that size. I know I don't have a Z18ET but I reckon it would make much more sense to use a cross-flowing intercooler, as you want the air to travel from the turbo to the throttle body via the shotrest possible route, but also through an intercooler!
