My clutch did the same thing, at night, by myself about 20km from anywhere.
The problem was that air got into the hydrolics and with no pressure just
sat on the floor. Tell your friend the easy but not permanent way to fix it
is to top up the clutch fluid and bleed it, via the valve? (i dont know the
proper term 4 it)at the bottom of the clutch housing?(same thing) But its
hard, if not impossible to do it by yourself.....at night........
