It was owned by Chris from Qld, who uses it for track and drag racing only.
I spoke to him for a while, this was his first run after fitting a new
turbo. It had quite a few mods:
Big front mount I/C
Custom exhaust manifold
Big Turbonetics turbo with external wastegate (radiator moved forward to fit
this)
3 inch exhaust
Microtech ECU with DFI (no distributor)
No airflow meter or air filter
600cc injectors
Bosch motorsport fuel pump with surge tank
First run had an slightly average launch and I heard 12.6 over the P.A. but
the time slip printer was broken :/ On the second run launch was much better
but his clutch slipped big time in 2nd so he backed off, and that was his
last run.
He said he is leaving the car down here in Sydney to have the bottom end
beefed up before next meet. (He also said he changes gear at 9000!) He wants
to crack the GTiR record with a low 11 he said :) He said he has previously
run a 12.3 with standard turbo in Qld running 18psi.
Oh yea he also said he hasn't blown a gearbox yet.
