Rick,
Fit your gearbox into the vehicle.
Slide the sleeve on the tailshaft into the back box as far as it will go,
then pull back 25mm. This is the running position of the tailshaft.
Accurately (To 1mm) measure the distance from the centre of the front
universal joint to the front face of the flange on the diff.
Accurately (To 1mm) measure the distance of the **diff flange** on the
**tailshaft** to the rear universal centre.
Subtract the second measurement from the first. This distance is the uni
centre to uni centre length your tailshaft needs to be.
Ensure that you tell the tailshaft company how the length was measured!!!

hey listers

i need to no how much to shorten my tailshaft to put a bluebird 5speed in my
1600.i am going to put it in myself but i need to get my tailshaft
shortened.or will the place it get it shortened at no how much to shorten it
anyhelp would be great
