That's the way those of us old enough to be driving when Aus changed over.
The only extra thing the rule had was to add 1 mph for every 40kph posted.

Works for me. BTW rare spares had the speedo converters for the 1600 a few
years back, could be worth a try but be ready for rare price too.

eg
40 kph = 6x4 + 1 = 25 mph
50 kph = 6x5 + 1 = 31 mph
60 kph = 6x6 + 1 = 37 mph
80 kph = 6x8 + 2 = 50 mph
90 kph = 6x9 + 2 = 57 mph
100 kph = 6x10 + 2 = 62 mph
110 kph = 6x11 + 2 = 68 mph
130 kph = 6x13 + 3 = 81 mph
160 kph = 6x16 + 4 = 100 mph
200 kph = 6x20 + 5 = 125 mph

regards
Terry

i got taught a way of converting kph into mph like this.

100kph, take off the last number 0, leaves you with 10. then X by 6. =
60mph!!
so you got
60k - 6x6 = 36mph.
or 80 - 8x6 = 48mph
or 25 - 2.5 x 6 = 15mph.

hope that helps.
