I agree with Terry on quiet mufflers...I've got a N13 Pulsar with a 2 1/4" exhaust and a hi flow cat (off a Lexus V8) and a Lukey turbo muffler...as soon as you get a few people in the car or go up hills or on a "rich day" it sounds like a helicopter...not very good for me either since I've had "industrial deafness" since I was a kid...you cant hear the radio or people talking to you in the car .Makes great noises at 6500+ rpm for a stock motor though ;)

I'm wondering what I could put on the L20B that's better flow than the factory type setup, but also with a better sound (better meaning quieter than original if possible too). Maybe I should just go with the factory system until I need the extra flow eh? I'm not too sure how quiet the factory system is anyway since at the moment it's sheared off after the first muffler (crappy weld joint probably)

What about those Dynomax mufflers? Are they quieter again than Walkers?

Dave,
Walkers are good and I've used them on the L powered Datto for years as they are well priced and last forever even in Canberra (muffler shops do well here with our winters). You usually only need one to keep an L engine quite (can't do that with a Lukey or HiTech as they are too noisy.) I prefer to hear the induction noise over an exhaust barking these days.

Can anyone tell me if those super turbo mufflers are any good for 4cyl engines?
I've been using them on 6cyl and 8cyl engines for years with good results and I just love the sound of them
I have a 2" high flow walker super turbo muffler that I haven't even used yet sitting around and also happen to have a few fairly long lengths of 2" piping with L series manifold flanges allready on them, so if that walker is a good muffler to use it'll all go together perfectly and save me a bit of cash.  I also have a 2" rear mounted twin tip muffler with "Wilospeed Performance exhausts" written on it, which would you guys recomend I use for maximum flow effeciency cause this will be my first car I intend to enter in hill climbs and the such, so I want the best possible performance I can get from it.

Also can anyone recomend somewhere in brisbane (southside if possible cause I have to pay to get the car towed there) where I can get my exhaust installed cheaply since I'm supplying the muffler, piping and it's allready got the correct flange on it surely you'd think that would reduce the price but I rang two of the bigger muffler joints and they seemed more pissed off than anything that I wanted to supply my own parts.

Thanks in advance
Dave
