Here is how to do it yourself. Its easy.
Thread the hood bows into the hood lining pockets and locate the bow ends in
their respective locating holes in the roof reinforcing panel down each side
of the body. Let them bow downward to start. When they are all fitted and
the hood lining is hanging like a big bag from the roof, get the rear end of
the lining and glue it back into place across the top of the rear window
using contact adhesive (upholstery glue - $5 from Clark Rubber). Follow the
glue instructions (apply to both surfaces, wait till dry to touch, then
stick together), and glue only the outermost 15mm where it wraps around the
panel edge. About 10mm glueing on the inner and outer edge is sufficient.
When the rear is glued, pull the front of the hood lining forward and push
each bow upward from the rear. The bows will rotate inside their pockets
and now be bowed upward.
Now glue the front edge of the hood lining to the top of the windscreen
surround. It should be just the right length if you have glued the rear
correctly. Stretch it slightly and check it to make sure you dont have
wrinkles caused by uneven stretching from front to rear before you contact
the glued surfaces.
Next glue the lining to each door surround making sure you stretch the hood
lining across the roof to eliminate any longitudinal wrinkles. Last, glue
the lining to the front and rear door pillars.
Now you have a lovely new, tight, hood lining - dont stab it or stain it
when refitting the sunvisors, mirror and dome light!
