front guard sheetmetal is same for the early and late cars, but the 
indicator lights were a different shape (late model are symetrical 
therefore same left to right but early model indicators had a left and 
a right pairing). because of this the early guards have a 
smaller/shorter mounting hole, and the badge mounting holes are 
closer to the nose on the early guards - something to watch out for 
if getting replacement guards and want the indicator lights to match.
