Yes its very cheap, I paid $1100 for mine, with new half shafts and rear
mount. And yes it can be adapted to fit the 1600 and it would be by far the
strongest diff you would put into your car. You can get a new rear mount
from SSS in sydney or probably maddat i would guess , not sure how much
though and the front mounts are the same.
