Andrew,
I have fitted an aftermarket rear demister to a few 1600's over time and
basically they are crap. There is too much heat build up in the fittings and
so they burn out, melt etc. I was looking for one a couple of years ago and
the only place I could source one was in NZ, so I didn't bother but it may
be worth revisiting - I think they were around the $50NZ mark. The US spec
510 actually has heated rear glass like the 200B got here, much better
option but at considerable cost - so it's scrapping ice off and winding down
windows.
