What does the car weigh? What is the weight transfer like in dirt/on tarmac
and what do you want to achieve? Where is the current center of gravity?
To set the car up right you need to do some research and some measurements
otherwise you may put yourself in a dangerous situation. What works in our
cars won't necessarily work in yours. Get a full set of springs at 150lb
with good shocks and that will give you a good controlled starting point to
test the suspension.
I have 8 sets of rear springs here ranging from 130lb to 210lb progressive,
all of them are 'rally springs' and all of them make the 1600 perform in
different ways, ranging from understeer to oversteer.
What is your budget? Don't be sucked in to getting cheap gear that doesn't
work.
Have a look at Eggroll's site www.datrats.com.au as the suspension kits he
carries are probably the most economical and most effective for motorsport
useage.
