Will,

Depending where you are located get along to your local nissan zed car club
and join up. I am a member of Nissan Datsun Sports Owners Club in Melb. They
are mainly zed orientated. You will see many zeds modded in different ways
at Car Clubs. If your car is a daily driver and you are budget conscious
then I recon a L20 EFI turbo (six cylinder import engine) or L28 EFI turbo
(ie 280zx) would be some fun.

Cheers
Trev

Will,

You have tons of options with Z cars!

The RB series motors (2, 2.5, 2.6, 3.0 litre twincam 24 valve straight six
with or without turbo's) are popular swaps, the Z Car Workshop have done
VG30 (3 litre V6, with or without turbo's) but I think most of the Datsun
enthusiasts agree there's nothing like the sound of a full house L series.
A L28 with triple Webers, chunky cam, big compression, will net about 220hp
which is about 40%-50% more than your stock L26 depending on its condition.
It probably wouldn't be much cheaper than an twincam EFI turbo swap though
:)
