You're talking clutched lsd here, a Viscous will spin fairly easily by hand
with one wheel up (dangerous bastards these) as when you inadvertently give
the engine a rev with trans in gear you give everyone in the garage a fright
when she launches off the jacks.

Almost right. With a good LSD and only one wheel jacked up, the jacked up
wheel shouldn't be able to be spun at all, unless you apply a lot of force.
With both wheels jacked up they should both spin in the same direction, if
they spin in reverse directions you have an "open" diff - ie non LSD.
