I was told those types of oil coolers aren't all that efficient. Also I haven't
heard of people needing to install oil coolers in FJ/SR cars so how important
must one be on a 1600?

If you were to do this though, how would you do it? Would you run the turbo oil
return line through the radiator (probably not very efficient method) or would
you get one of those units that goes between the oil filter and diverts it?
