I read somewhere that it's also got something to do with even temperature
but it's more than likely a combination of a lot of things - it's not
conducive to hot spots like cast iron is but that didn't seem to worry the
Ford boys in the early days. I have also read that the new generation inlet
manifolds are plastic - Honduh have used one in a VTec development engines
in a quest to build the lightest 1 litre production petrol engine for
California. They've also used some sort of plastic with the rocker cover and
water pump, it also has things like magnesium sump.
