yeah I agree,
I have just done this in the last two days and you need the L16 sump as
stated which I think I already had on the L18, and my
extractors just fitted. I used the L20 dipstick in the normal hole and it
seems to be giving a correct reading - are there any problems with using
this combination?
Also I used the SU's I had and fit no probs and perform quite well, I assume
much better than the stock carb.

You'll need to fit the 1600 oil pick-up and sump + the
L16 or L18 dipstick and tube. There should be a blank
which you can knock out where the stick will fit. The
L18 sump looks similar but is deeper and hits the
xmember. If you keep the stock carb you'll need to fit
an L16 or L18 aircleaner as the 2l will hit the
bonnet. You might need a little work on the exhaust
pick-up too as the l20 will move it up an inch or so.
